We Start with Gratitude!
The first step in our giving pathway is to give gratefully. Gratitude is one of the great weapons of worship. It undermines the lie of our own sufficiency and self-righteousness even as it reminds us that we are deeply loved by a good God who gives good gifts. Gratitude is the starting point of our giving pathway, because it is one of the only motivations for giving that will not collapse in on itself as an act of religion. Gratitude compels giving from a cheerful heart that loves God more than his gifts! Grateful giving is an act of worship!
We Commit to Generosity!
The second step in our giving pathway is to give generously. It’s important to note that generosity is not about the extravagance of the gift, but the endurance of the giver. It’s easy to give when we feel like it, but generosity compels us to give even when our feelings fail us. We have several ways to help you create and sustain a commitment to generosity. First, you can give in person (cash, check, text "84321" to give, in the app, or on the website) during the offering at our weekly gathering. Second, you can setup a recurring donation through the app or website that will automate your giving. Whatever you choose, thanks for your generosity!
We Sacrifice for the Generations!
It has been said that Christianity is always just one generation away from extinction, which is why the Bible has much to say about the responsibility of each generation investing in the next. At South Shore we want to take this responsibility seriously. So, we’re inviting you to give generationally. A generational gift might be extravagant. It might even be reckless. It will almost always be sacrificial. Having said that, please know that generational giving is not just for “big” donations. Remember what Jesus said about the widow who gave her two pennies in the temple offering: “And he said, “Truly, I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all… she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.”
